About the Role:

RWE Renewables Italia S.r.l. is seeking a highly skilled Project Development Manager to join our team in Rome. As a key member of our Business Development Italy team, you will be responsible for developing wind, PV, and BESS projects in Italy from early stage through investment decision and handover to the construction & operations team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver assigned projects according to agreed timeline, budget, and quality, providing timely and transparent communication to all functions involved.
  • Manage the permitting process, including preparation and/or review of documentation for EIA and Single Permit, and representation of interests during technical debates.
  • Build and cultivate relationships with land parcel owners to establish and maintain a positive link with local communities.
  • Improve project competitiveness by challenging project assumptions to reduce LCoE and/or improve LRoE, in cooperation with Investment Manager.
  • Manage activities related to assigned projects, including site pre-selection, environmental constraints analysis, wind potential assessment, and land leases agreements.

Requirements:

  • Significant work experience (3-10 years+) in solar and/or wind development in Italy.
  • Degree in engineering, business administration, economics, law, or comparable studies.
  • Proven knowledge of the Italian Renewables market and competence in scouting and consenting process in Italy.
  • Able to demonstrate commercial awareness and understanding of key commercial drivers to the energy sector.
  • Ability to collaborate globally in cross-functional teams and effectively communicate internally & externally.
  • Fluent in Italian and English, with other languages (Spanish) a plus.
