**Research Opportunities at Fraunhofer Italia**
Fraunhofer Italia Research scarl is seeking a highly skilled researcher to join its Machine Intelligence Development group within the Robotics & Intelligent Systems Engineering department.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in machine learning engineering or computer science, with experience in AI-based enabling technologies such as reinforcement learning, deep learning, and computer vision.
Key responsibilities will include developing and designing AI/ML solutions for various applications, including industrial production plants, automation in construction, and precision/automated farming.
As part of an interdisciplinary team, the selected candidate will work on various research projects at the interface between science and practice, collaborating with clients and expanding the institute's scientific know-how in these areas.
**Requirements:**
- M.Sc. degree in machine learning engineering or computer science
- Experience in AI-based enabling technologies
- Strong programming skills in C++ or Python, with hands-on experience in Machine Learning frameworks and standard data-science libraries
- Basic knowledge of Git for version control
- Proficiency in English, with Italian or German language skills a plus
**Nice to Have:**
- Fluent English
- Experience with ML ecosystem tools
- Knowledge of MATLAB and Simulink
- Knowledge of ROS and experience with robotics systems
