Job Description:

As a Commissioning Engineer at HITACHI ENERGY ITALY S.P.A., you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and cost-effective completion of commissioning activities for projects with low to medium complexity. Your primary responsibility will be to act as the commissioning lead, overseeing the implementation of commissioning activities in accordance with contract specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the planning and implementation of commissioning activities, working closely with the Installation Supervisor/Site Manager to ensure seamless coordination.
  • Implement commissioning design changes and provide mark-ups for as-built project documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Support continuous improvement of project process/product/system design, identifying areas for optimization and proposing solutions.
  • Assist in creating proposals for engineering projects, including provision of bills of materials and estimated engineering hours.
  • Support Contract Managers in issuing claims, providing new scope of work, cost impact, time impact, risk quantifications, and other relevant information.
  • Conduct risk and opportunity assessments during the commissioning phase, identifying potential risks and recommending resolutions to management.
  • Initiate and monitor risk mitigation plans, ensuring stakeholders are updated on associated technical risks.
  • Conduct Safety Observation tours regularly, reporting and mitigating potential HSE hazards.
  • Coordinate site activities focused on finalizing customer acceptance certification, ensuring timely completion and quality standards.
  • Identify and recommend new effective solutions to meet business and customer needs, providing relevant information pertaining to commissioning assignments and meetings with customers.
  • Manage external organizations to ensure availability of commissioning equipment, systems, or services, providing relevant information to contractors and colleagues.
  • Apply and improve processes and tools in one's technical area to ensure effective project delivery, using standard processes to ensure compliance with required safety regulations and contractual requirements.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical/Electrotechnical Engineering or Technical Diploma.
  • 2-5 years of experience with control and protection systems, with good knowledge of English (B1/B2).
  • Experience with test devices (Omicron, Isa) is a plus.
  • Ability to work in a team and problem-solving environment.
  • Availability to travel between Italy and Europe (90%).
