About the Role

Dana Canada Corp. is seeking a highly skilled System Validation Engineer to join our team in the Light Vehicle Electrification Business Unit. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in supporting the integration strategy and planning of electrification eAxle components and auxiliary components.

Key Responsibilities
  • Integration Strategy and Planning: Support the development of integration strategies and plans for electrification eAxle components and auxiliary components, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems.
  • System and Software Validation: Lead the validation of electrified eAxle systems, focusing on functional requirements and ensuring compliance with industry standards.
  • Test Environment Setup: Collaborate with the system/software V&V manager/lead to create test environments necessary for integration and qualification testing.
  • Test Case Development and Execution: Analyze requirements, create test specifications, and execute tests via HIL/SIL/MIL as needed.
  • Process Improvement: Support process improvements for system V&V, incorporating Functional Safety, Cybersecurity, and ASPICE as required.
Requirements
  • 3+ years' experience in software validation.
  • 2+ years' experience with HIL environments such as dSpace.
  • 2+ years' experience with HIL testing methodologies, Python scripting, and tools (i.e. AutomationDesk, ControlDesk).
  • 2+ years' experience with products following ASPICE, ISO26262 methods.
  • 1+ year experience or proven knowledge of electric machines, power electronics, and understanding of EV powertrain control strategies is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of model-based software (i.e. Matlab / Simulink / Simulink Test / Simscape).
  • Understanding of Configuration Management tools (JIRA, Teams, SharePoint).
  • Understanding of Experience with Requirements Management using tools (Polarion, DOORS).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a high degree of intellectual horsepower.
