Shell is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Team Lead to manage a multidisciplinary team of engineering staff for complex business deliverables. The successful candidate will act as the main Asset Coordinator and Business Interface to teams who have complex portfolio support.
Key Responsibilities- Lead activities of operational process teams, ensuring transparency and controls for operational delivery of the 4 pillars: Pillar 1 Designer, Pillar 2 Drafting and Drawing Management, Pillar 3 CMMSP, and Pillar 4 Digital.
- Set priorities, develop the team, maintain the interface with asset representation, and support issue resolution within the team and in partnership with Operations Lead as needed.
- Lead, motivate, and inspire immediate team members, as well as support other team leads within the vertical and the wider TAO teams to deliver exceptional results.
- Lead key projects and drive a continuous improvement culture within the team by increasing team productivity and efficiency year on year.
- Coach, develop, and mentor a team of 12 plus frontline staff and take a lead role as Asset focal point.
- Manage HSSE performance of the team, including delivery of activities/products that protect HSSE delivery within Assets.
- Support competency development of the staff, inspire and develop the staff throughout the team, and create and foster a strong team spirit within the team and across other Team leads.
- Ensure effective and transparent relationships with asset stakeholders by acting as the main asset coordinator and business interface.
- Ensure that the team delivers on time, with required quality control and continuous improvement.
- Maintain high staff utilization and productivity, ensure the teams are compliant with applicable process standards, guidelines, and applicable local requirements, and support the recruitment and onboarding activities.
- Develop and maintain work instructions, quality plans, training & marketing materials, and ensure that the trained resources are effectively deployed and the KPIs & deliverables are closely monitored & improved.
- Ensure that billing, time-writing, and expense claims are executed in a timely manner, collaborate effectively within TAO & other teams, and provide steer and direction to the team using GPA & business plans.
- Coach staff and support their individual development plan (IDP), provide technical steer to staff for assigned work streams, enable the usage of supporting technologies/IT tools, and encourage the teams to have a clear asset-centricity & delivery focus.
- Support and provide steer to other team leads to ensure delivery across all teams in alignment with GPA and business goals, support Account, Migration & Quality management, and ensure compliance with Shell's policies and standards.
- University Degree (preferred) in a relevant engineering discipline with 12 plus years of work experience in Maintenance, Production Operations & Engineering in Oil & Gas/Petrochemicals, or any equivalent Industries.
- Experience in leading large teams in a virtual environment, a track record in building and sustaining teams, and experience of implementing change & continuous improvement projects.
- Able to demonstrate in-depth technical knowledge & required skill sets for the role (as per TAO competency framework), proactively manage stakeholder expectations, and experience in working across different cultures.
- Solid experience in Project management & Team Performance Management, knowledge in managing data using various CMMS tools, design and revision of P&ID, and knowledge in implementation of digital tools.
- A self-starter, taking initiatives and working without close supervision, strong in prioritization, managing stakeholder expectations, and resilient under pressure.
- Able to guide the team and steer them through tough/demanding situations, contribute hands-on, lead and motivate other team leaders, and steer them through tough situations.
- A sound understanding of business/process workflow and a mature mindset to deal and behave under tough/challenging situations, passionately invest in coaching to enhance teams' performance and capability for future roles, hold honest performance conversations, and intervene to address patterns of underperformance.
