Sustainability Engineer

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sustainability Engineer to join our Electrification Business Area at ABB Schweiz AG. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in driving sustainability and environmental responsibility across our products and services.

• Perform Life Cycle Assessments (LCAs) using modeling software to identify areas for improvement and optimize product sustainability.
• Develop and implement environmental product declarations (EPDs) for our products, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including RD, Operations, HSE, Quality, SCM, and suppliers, to collect data and implement sustainability initiatives.
• Design and re-design products to meet sustainability and environmental requirements, ensuring reliability, durability, maintainability, and recyclability.
• Stay up-to-date with external trends and perspectives related to sustainability, providing consultation and expertise to businesses as required.

• Bachelor's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering, or in Sustainability Engineering/Environmental Science.
• Minimum 1-4 years of experience in RD with exposure to product design development, quality, value engineering, and costing.
• Knowledge of eco-design, LCA, EPDs, energy efficiency, and other sustainability concepts.
• Proficient in CAD tools, PLM software, and ERP systems.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with a solutions-oriented approach.
