Job Summary

AAR is seeking an experienced Avionics Technician to join our team at Aviano AB, Italy. As an Avionics Technician, you will be responsible for the depot-level modification, upgrade, and test of aircraft sub-systems, ensuring airworthiness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspect, test, modify, and repair avionic and electrical systems, including radar, radio, navigation, and aircraft power systems.
  • Test avionic and electrical systems under simulated or actual operating conditions to determine performance and airworthiness.
  • Adjust, repair, and/or replace defective components based on analysis of test results.
  • Calibrate installed, modified, or repaired systems and/or equipment to prescribed specifications.
  • Operate ground servicing equipment to operationally test, inspect, and verify functionality and air worthiness of avionic and other electrical systems.
  • Assist in fabricating wiring harnesses.
  • Accurately document all required records, including electronic records.
  • Effectively interact with program and customer representatives as well as on-site business or military representatives.

Requirements

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.
  • US Citizenship is required due to the Secret Clearance requirement.
  • Must meet one of the following requirements: A bachelor's degree plus 3 years of recent specialized related experience in avionics or electro-environmental maintenance, an associate's degree, A&P license, or FCC license plus 4 years of recent specialized related experience in avionics or electro-environmental maintenance, or a High School Diploma plus 8 years of recent specialized related experience in avionics or electro-environmental maintenance.
  • F-16 experience is strongly preferred, but other fighter jet experience may be considered.
  • 5th generation aircraft experience is a plus.
  • Microsoft Office Suite skills is preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to lift and carry parts, tooling, and other awkward items sometimes weighing greater than 50 lbs.
  • Requires intermittent standing, walking, sitting, squatting, stretching, and bending throughout the workday.
  • Must be able to see and hear or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately to assure that the requirements of this position can be fully met.
