Accelerator AI Director Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Accelerator AI Director to join our team at Openchip Software Technologies S.L. in Barcelona, Spain or Rome, Italy.

About the Role

The Accelerator Architecture team is focused on developing innovative VPU and MPU architectures for System-on-Chip (SoC) designs. As an Accelerator AI Director, you will be responsible for defining the architectural aspects of VPU and MPU, including lanes, vector register files, inter lane communication, and microarchitectural aspects to optimize system performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop VPU and MPU architecture to meet performance, power, and area goals
  • Optimize VPU and MPU integration with scalar CPU to solve data transfer bottlenecks
  • Support software stack integration with VPU/MPU architecture
  • Develop, assess, and refine architecture to target power, performance, area, and timing goals
Requirements
  • 20+ years of experience in developing CPU, MPU, or VPU and delivering hardware products or solutions
  • System-level understanding of one of the following subsystems of the SoC: Memory IP, NOC, AI, Security
  • Experience working in a large corporation and leading a technical team in a highly matrixed environment
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to synthesize clear key messages backed by data
