About the Role

Alstom is seeking a highly skilled Safety Assurance Manager to join our team. As a key member of our Projects team, you will be responsible for managing, performing, and ensuring the activities related to safety assurance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate all safety assurance activities on projects within your perimeter, adhering to the Safety process defined in the Signaling Safety Instruction.
  • Perform safety analysis, manage hazard logs, review RAM, Cyber, V&V, and T&C activities from a safety perspective.
  • Define safety plans and manage safety workloads and associated planning.
  • Build safety reports and safety cases.
  • Apply safety assurance methodologies, including risk acceptance criteria, safety analysis, verification, and validation, as defined for the project.
  • Attend periodic safety reviews and defend safety case argumentations in front of internal and external assessors.
  • Coordinate safety assurance engineers involved in ETCS or IXL projects.
  • Support the review of safety issues and their root cause identification and mitigation measures.
Requirements
  • Engineering degree (preferably Electronic Engineering) or similar.
  • Italian and English operational in speaking, reading, and writing for technical documentation.
  • Knowledge of Cenelec Standards for Safety (or equivalent standards if needed) and safety methodology and concepts/principles.
  • Strong experience in RAMS/Functional Safety Assurance is an asset.
  • Mastering the full engineering cycle (from specification to validation tasks) and related interactions.
  • Experience in evaluating and monitoring the workload and schedule of safety activities on multiple complex projects.
  • Behavioural competencies: structured and organized, proactive behaviour, sense of anticipation and urgency.
  • Ability to execute and coordinate analyses, design reviews, and evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles, adhering to business standards and procedures in accordance with project.
  • Be a detail-oriented individual, thoughtful, and deliberate in your approach to conducting research and analyses.
  • Possess a strong work ethic and be task-focused. Must be willing to 'do what it takes' to get the job done within the allotted timeframe while maintaining the highest levels of quality in the projects produced.
  • Resilient (to pressure, to last-minute deliveries, to manage urgently safety issues).
