Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to fill the role of Inmate Work Crew Supervisor with the Arizona State Government.


Job Duties

  • Supervises inmate work crew activities at various worksites and ensures adherence to production schedules and quality standards.
  • Coordinates communications between the Regional Operations Manager and the inmate workforce regarding shop production needs.
  • Performs pat/strip searches, vehicle searches, and reviews work products to maintain a clean, safe, and secure work environment.
  • Administers work evaluations and initiates and/or maintains required records, reports, and documentation.
  • Exercises appropriate disciplinary measures as required and maintains control of keys, tools, equipment, restricted products, and confidential information.
  • Transports inmates to/from various work locations and performs formal/informal inmate counts.
  • Attends training sessions and performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of federal, state, and agency laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures relevant to the assignment.
  • Principles and practices of inmate management and supervision.
  • Problem-solving and conflict resolution techniques.
  • Inventory control and search techniques.
  • Ability to learn and adhere to federal, state, and agency laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures relevant to the assignment.
  • Establish and maintain security, order, and disciplinary measures, work with and supervise inmates, control of tools, equipment, and confidential information.
  • Diplomatically and tactfully respond to issues and establish and maintain professional working relationships with employees and inmates.
  • Review work product, evaluate documentation for accuracy and completeness, and conduct various types of searches.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision and make sound decisions.
  • Learn principles and practices of inmate management and supervision.
