Job Description

The Financial Risk Manager will be responsible for managing the entire credit process for the Business Area Southern Europe, contributing to the development and implementation of credit policies that ensure business profitability while minimizing risks.

The Credit Manager will assess the creditworthiness of existing and potential customers, ensuring that they meet the necessary requirements to receive credit. This includes evaluating their financial history, credit score, and ability to repay loans.

Main Activities:

  • Customer Credit Risk Assessment: Evaluate the creditworthiness of existing and potential customers to determine their ability to repay loans.
  • Credit Limit Definition and Maintenance: Define and maintain customer credit limits to ensure that they align with the company's risk tolerance.
  • Business Partnering: Collaborate with business partners to define proper balances between business choices, compliance, and economic/financial impact.
  • Decision Making: Make decisions on payment conditions (terms and methods) that respect group policies and local regulations.
  • Negotiation of Guarantees: Negotiate guarantees (bank guarantees, etc.) with customers to mitigate risk.
  • Credit Check and Order Release: Perform daily credit checks and release orders accordingly.
  • Credit Insurance Management: Manage customer credit insurance activities, including negotiating credit limits, turnover declarations, and claim processes.
  • KPI Definition and Monitoring: Define, calculate, and monitor key performance indicators (provision for bad debts, overdue amounts, DSO).
  • Debt Collection Analysis: Analyze overdue amounts and manage debt collection activities, including pre-dunning and payment reminders.
  • Payment Plan Definition: Define payment plans to ensure that agreed-upon payment conditions are fulfilled.
  • Collaboration with Legal Office: Collaborate with the legal office and external legal partners to resolve claim disputes and manage insolvency procedures.
  • Reporting and Insights: Generate periodic reports and provide strategic insights to management.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with sales and customer service teams to ensure efficient and effective credit management.
  • Process Improvement: Review and update internal procedures to improve process efficiency, standardization, and compliance across all territories.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and provide management support to the credit analyst team.

Education: Master's Degree in Finance or Management Control
