Retail Accounting Specialist

POSITION OVERVIEW

New Guards Group is in search of a committed Senior Accountant specializing in Retail to enhance its Administrative Department, reporting directly to the Retail Accounting Manager.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the execution of standard accounting functions and related activities for the company's retail outlets;
  • Maintain accurate documentation of financial transactions within the general ledger, accounts receivable, and accounts payable;
  • Guarantee the precision and promptness of reports concerning accounts receivable and accounts payable, including the preparation of weekly payment schedules;
  • Conduct periodic reviews and reconciliations of sales, cash receipts, bank statements, and credit card transactions in the general ledger;
  • Assist in the month-end accounting close process by evaluating accruals, prepayments, and depreciation entries;
  • Examine intercompany transactions, investigating and resolving any discrepancies that may occur;
  • Participate in the analysis of financial statements;
  • Engage in daily communication with both internal and external business partners.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline;
  • A minimum of 2 years of prior experience as an accountant, preferably within the retail or fashion sector;
  • Proficiency in English;
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other relevant accounting software;
  • Detail-oriented with exceptional analytical and problem-solving capabilities;
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team setting;
  • Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced environment with rapidly changing priorities.
