Front Desk Manager (m/f)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee front office functions including guest check-in, check-out, and assistance, ensuring adherence to all front office policies and guest satisfaction.
  • Engage in the formulation, execution, and assessment of policies and procedures in line with headquarters' directives.
  • Recruit, train, develop, schedule, and evaluate the performance of front office staff to guarantee efficient operations. Optimize hotel revenue through effective management of room inventory and pricing strategies.
  • Maintain a visible presence during peak times to ensure seamless operations, foster positive public relations, and address guest complaints effectively.
  • Welcome VIP guests in the absence of senior management and provide personalized assistance throughout their stay.
  • Collaborate with various departments such as Executive Office, Housekeeping, Sales and Marketing, Engineering, and Security to ensure a friendly and secure environment for guests from arrival to departure.
  • Identify training needs, plan training sessions, and oversee their execution for all front office roles, ensuring compliance and effectiveness.
  • Stay informed about emergency protocols, hotel promotions, product knowledge, VIP arrivals, and upcoming events, and communicate this information to front office staff.
  • Complete administrative tasks including leading meetings, preparing reports, and fulfilling other specific job-related duties.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by senior management.

CANDIDATE PROFILE:

  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management or a related field such as Administration or Tourism Management.
  • Proficient in English and German, both spoken and written; additional languages are advantageous.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in a senior front office management role, ideally within a five-star international hotel.
  • Understanding of cashier operations and hotel business practices.
  • Familiarity with upselling techniques and revenue maximization strategies.
  • Ability to foster teamwork, develop talent, and motivate staff.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills, with a focus on problem-solving and decision-making.
  • Adaptable and flexible, with a commitment to quality and results.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and customer service orientation.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; knowledge of Protel is a plus.
