Caretaker (f/m/d)

MEININGER Hotels is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Caretaker to join our team in Rome. As a Caretaker, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of our property, as well as performing daily tasks related to maintenance, technical installations, and interior decorations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular visual and functional checks of buildings, technical installations, and common areas, ensuring they are free from debris.
  • Perform light configurations and replacements of worn-out parts (e.g., doors, light bulbs, mattresses).
  • Maintain and clean outdoor areas (e.g., terraces, gardens, courtyards) and manage monthly ventilation cleaning of bathrooms and shower drains.
  • Assist with annual room cleaning (e.g., moving beds, emptying radiators) and instruct/support external maintenance companies.
  • Conduct quarterly checks in all guest rooms and technical areas, following internal protocols.
  • Monitor and transmit utility consumption data to FM HQ, reporting anomalies to (J)OM-FM and managing water tap flow according to internal protocols.
  • Perform basic repairs, such as plumbing, electrical, furniture, and bathroom fixtures, and carry out small painting tasks.
  • Detect issues, report them to management, and, if necessary, contact external maintenance companies directly.
  • Respond to customer and management requests, following management protocols.
  • Be responsible for the care, maintenance, and inventory of all supplies and equipment assigned to this position.
  • Inform the Operations Manager and Facility Management of necessary supplies (e.g., shower parts, door handles, pillows, lamp shades) and keep track of purchase orders and inventory of items assigned to this position.

Requirements:

  • Diploma of maturity required and preferably experience in a similar role.
  • Basic knowledge of building systems and strong communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to organize time and manage multiple tasks and projects.
