We are seeking an experienced Cloud SysOps Engineer to join our Cloud Operations team in Lucca, Italy.

Job Description

As a Cloud SysOps Engineer, you will be responsible for developing, maintaining, enhancing, and extending our cloud infrastructure. You will work closely with our development teams, product management, and customer support to resolve cloud service issues, improve system performance, and ensure high availability.

  • Collaborate with the team to develop, maintain, enhance, and extend our cloud infrastructure.
  • Triage, troubleshoot, and resolve cloud service issues working with Customer Support, other development teams, and Product Management.
  • Contribute to recognizing patterns of issues and potential root causes, and advocate for investigation and/or holistic fixes.
  • Help manage emergency plans for the cloud service, implementing backup/restore systems.
  • Help manage disaster recovery solutions based on stakeholder requirements.
  • Help to maintain and improve the security posture and maturity of our organization.
  • Automate & optimize application availability, scalability, performance monitoring and alerting.
  • Examine operational activities and technology debt scenarios that would benefit from new ideas or automation.
  • Ensure the team continues to evolve and improve everything we do, and how we do it.
  • Ensure process repeatability, track/documents any change to infrastructure, assist customers during deployment/downtime activities.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or equivalent field.
  • Experience with AWS or Azure.
  • Knowledge of Linux operating systems, shell scripting and networking.
  • Experience in relational and NoSQL databases.
  • Experience in maintaining and monitoring backup systems.
  • Good communication and collaboration skills, experienced in customer management.
  • Fluency in Italian and good knowledge of English.
  • Working experience with ticketing systems (e.g. Jira or Salesforce).
