About the Role

OHB Italia is seeking a highly skilled Embedded Software Engineer to join its Satellite and Missions Department in Milano.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Software Development: Define the architecture, design, and development of the Software (Boot SW, Drivers, and Application Software) for the On-Board Computers developed by OHB-I.
  2. Integration and Testing: Integrate the Software with the On-Board Computers and prepare the On-Board Software Verification and Validation Plan.
  3. Test Campaign Execution: Execute and report on Software Test Campaigns.
  4. Support and Collaboration: Support the AIT/AIV team during Integration, Validation, and Testing campaigns and participate in technical reviews with customers.
Requirements
  1. Education: Master's degree in Informatics or Electronics Engineering or equivalent.
  2. Experience: Minimum 3 years of professional experience as an embedded software engineer.
  3. Skills: High level of flexibility, willingness to work in teams, and ability to keep tight schedules. Fluent in written and spoken English.
Desirable Expertise
  1. Embedded C Software Design/Development: Experience in designing and developing embedded C software.
  2. Software-Level Requirements Capture: Familiarity with software-level requirements capture, analysis, and verification techniques.
  3. Hardware/Software Integration: Experience in the hardware/software integration phase.
  4. SW-Applicable Development Standards: Experience with SW-applicable development standards (ECSS).
  5. UML Design: Experience in UML design.
  6. Code Version Control: Experience in the usage of Code Version Control tools (e.g. svn, git).
  7. DOORS and IBM Rhapsody: Experience in the usage of DOORS and IBM Rhapsody (Model-Based design and autocode).
  8. Software Validation Facilities: Experience with Software Validation Facilities (SVF).
  9. Chipsets and CPU Architectures: Experience with one or more of the chipsets and CPU architectures used in space (e.g. SPARC Leon, PowerPC, ARM, RISC-V).
  10. Software Static Analysis: Experience with Software Static Analysis and related tools (e.g. PC-Lint, Understand, LDRA, Polyspace).
  11. Test Preparation and Execution: Experience with tools used for test preparation and execution (e.g. CCS, ECHO, VectorCAST/Cover, TestRT).
  12. Communication Protocols: Knowledge of one or more of the protocols used in space (e.g. CANBus, MIL-STD-1553, Space-wire) and packet-based communication protocols (e.g. CCSDS, ECSS PUS).
  13. RTOS and CD/CI Practices: Knowledge of RTOS (e.g RTEMS) and CD/CI practices.
