Radiation Engineer

Thales Alenia Space is seeking a highly skilled Radiation Engineer - Space Environment and Effects Specialist to join our team.

• Space Environment Analysis: Conduct in-depth analysis of space environment characteristics, including radiation, plasma, and debris effects on complex spacecraft.
• Effects Evaluation: Evaluate the impact of space environment effects on spacecraft systems and subsystems using 3D mathematical and geometrical models.
• Requirements Definition: Define detailed space environment system and lower-tier requirements and specifications.
• Mitigation and Design Solutions: Develop mitigation and design solutions to meet customer needs.
• System and Subsystem Activities: Support system and subsystem activities to draft detailed specifications and detailed design implementation.
• Verification and Validation: Support verification and validation activities at subsystem and system level.
• Quality Assurance: Support Quality Assurance activities for discussion and disposition of NCRs during manufacturing, integration, and testing activities.
• Interface with Project Teams and Customers: Interface with project teams and customers to ensure effective communication and collaboration.

• Master's Degree: Master's degree in Nuclear Engineering or Physics.
• Flexibility and Teamwork: Ability to work with flexibility in a multidisciplinary team with a continuous learning attitude.
• Language Skills: Fluent English (listening, reading, speaking, and writing).
• Technical Skills: Knowledge of Monte Carlo methods, CAD tools, modeling tools, computational languages (Fortran, C/C++, LabVIEW, MATLAB, Python), and radiation analysis and plasma charging tools (FASTRAD, SPENVIS, GEANT4, SPIS).
