Electrical Design Engineer Job Description

The Electrical Design Engineer is a key member of our team, responsible for designing and developing electrical systems and diagrams that meet our company's procedures and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and create circuit diagrams for switchboards and on-board automation systems;
  • Develop automation architectures based on machinery system operation requirements and safety regulations, defining bills of materials and component selection;
  • Verify assembly and commissioning phases of installations, providing assistance to production departments and resolving electrical design-related issues;
  • Collaborate with the team to develop efficient and reliable projects and technologies, adhering to company procedures and regulations.

Activities and Deliverables:

  • Design and develop electrical and plant systems for automatic machines;
  • Create bills of materials for machine edges and electrical cabinets;
  • Prepare documentation, cable lists, and connection tables;
  • Research alternative or new solutions for optimizing electrical plant engineering;
  • Support budgeting for new installations and customizations;
  • Provide production support in assembly and testing of installations.

Requirements:

  • Degree in electrical or electronics/electrotechnical field;
  • Proficiency in electrical CAD software (IGE-XAO system knowledge is a plus);
  • Knowledge of electrical components (electrical panels and machine boards);
  • Ability to work with multi-skilled technical teams (mechanical and electronic);
  • Autonomy in managing assigned activities;
  • Accuracy and methodological rigor;
  • Curiosity and ability to frame activities from a broader perspective;
  • English language proficiency (B1/B2 level);
  • Proficiency in major office software: Excel, Word;
  • Willingness to listen and mediation skills.

Nice to Have:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering;
  • Previous experience in an industrial environment;
  • Knowledge of inverters, drives, sensors, numerical controls, PLCs, anthropomorphic robots;
  • PLC programming knowledge;
  • Knowledge of safety controllers and SAFE PLCs;
  • Knowledge of industry regulations and main national and international standards (CEI, IEC, UL, machinery directive, etc.) and machine safety regulations;
  • Knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics;
  • Ability to analyze technical feasibility of orders;
  • Ability to search for faults and/or weak points in the system;
  • Aptitude for multitasking;
  • Ability to plan and prioritize design activities using MS Project;
  • SAP management system (ERP) knowledge.
