Senior Accountant Staff

PAQ, Inc. is a 100% Employee-Owned Company consisting of 23 retail grocery stores throughout the central valley and central coast of California.

We have an opening for a Senior Accountant Staff to apply accounting principles to various issues and transactions, ensure accurate financial reporting, and support the month-end and year-end close processes.

This role involves preparing audit-ready journal entries and general ledger reconciliations, participating in annual and specialized audits, and collaborating with other departments to resolve accounting issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and assist in the period-end financial close process.
  • Oversee, support and review the accounting team's daily and weekly tasks, including journal entry review and other responsibilities.
  • Supervise and assist with month-end inventory reconciliation and gross profit reporting.
  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of accounting entries and financial data through thorough review and investigation.
  • Work to enhance overall accounting processes and procedures.

Requirements:

  • A bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
  • Over five years of accounting experience.
  • CPA or working towards obtaining a CPA license is a plus.
