Job Summary

We are seeking an exceptional International Education Director to lead our SYA Italy campus. This is a unique opportunity to shape the educational experience of American high school students in Italy.

About SYA

School Year Abroad (SYA) provides a rigorous, place-based education to American high school students abroad. Our programs foster academic excellence, independence, and cross-cultural understanding.

Responsibilities

The International Education Director will oversee the day-to-day operations of the campus, ensuring the highest standards of academic excellence, student safety, and community engagement. Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and implementing academic programs that align with SYA's mission and values
  • Recruiting, training, and supervising local faculty and staff
  • Managing the host family program and overseeing student support services
  • Fostering relationships with local officials, community leaders, and important organizations
  • Maintaining effective communication with SYA's home office and other stakeholders
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A master's degree in education or a related field
  • Fluency in Italian at a native or near-native level
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Experience in international education, preferably in Italy
  • A strong understanding of American high school culture and curriculum

As an International Education Director with SYA, you will enjoy a competitive salary of $80,000 per year, plus benefits, including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
