GNC Engineer

Thales Alenia Space is seeking a highly skilled Guidance Navigation and Control (GNC) Engineer to join our team in the Attitude and Orbit Control Subsystem (AOCS) department.

• Contribute to the AOCS related design, development, and verification of spacecraft systems.
• Derive pointing requirements from system specifications and allocate requirements to GNC functions, sensors, and actuators.
• Define AOCS architecture, including configuration and operative mode logic.
• Develop GNC algorithms and perform stability and robustness analysis of controllers.
• Produce technical documentation, including design reports, pointing budgets, performance analysis, and evaluation reports.
• Develop GNC simulators in Matlab and Simulink environments.

• At least 5 years of technical knowledge in Guidance Navigation and Control discipline, Automatic Control Theory, Attitude and Orbit Control Subsystem architecture, Flight Dynamics, AOCS sensors and actuators, Mission analysis, Space environment, and programming languages such as Matlab, LabView, C, and C++.
• Required Engineering Master Degree in Aerospace or Electronics engineering, or Physics.
• Mandatory previous experience in Entry, Descent, and Landing GNC design, development, validation, and verification in engineering simulation environments and Hardware-in-the-loop facilities, applied to Moon missions.
• Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office package and English language (spoken and written).
• Good knowledge of Italian is appreciated.
• Available to work in shifts if requested by the program.
• Good attitude towards analysis, synthesis, and problem-solving.
