About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Product Engineering Specialist to join our Electrification Business Area, Smart Power Division. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing all activities related to plastic tools and processes, ensuring technical specifications are met.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze 3D/2D technical documents for new plastic components and evaluate manufacturing feasibility.
  • Identify technological criticalities and suggest modifications to improve manufacturing feasibility.
  • Lead supplier efficiency evaluation, monitor robustness of external manufacturing setup, and ensure compliance with safety, cost, on-time delivery, and quality targets.
  • Support production start-up and ramp-up of plastic tools and processes.
  • Act as the single point of contact between Product Engineers, suppliers, and other ABB functions.
  • Define technical specs of plastic tools and ensure design and tool development meet ABB expectations.
  • Manage product cost monitoring of all family breakers produced.
  • Support Product Engineering department in assessing and addressing improvement activities.
  • Coordinate POD (Product Optimization Design) process and monitor cost savings.
  • Support Product Engineering Manager with Capex monitoring.
Requirements
  • Highly skilled in manufacturing technologies and plastic tools and processes.
  • At least 1 year of experience in a similar role.
  • Enhanced knowledge of MS Office and 2D/3D CAD systems.
  • Passionate about teamwork, speediness, and problem-solving.
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Proficient in Italian and English.
