Euroepan Tech Recruit's Pisa Research Center is pushing the boundaries of digital energy and electric vehicle technologies. As an Operating System Engineer, you will be part of a team that is expanding its capabilities and seeking experts in low-level drivers and system mechanisms.

This is a fully onsite position in Pisa, and you should have full right to work in the EU/Italy.

About the Role

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in RTOS, device driver development, and embedded system optimization. Key responsibilities include designing and optimizing RTOS kernel components and device drivers for industrial applications, conducting low-level performance analysis and optimization of CPUs, GPUs, and embedded hardware, and working on real-time and parallel concurrent programming.

Key Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must possess a M.Sc. or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Computer, or Electronic Engineering, with strong C/C++ and Assembly programming skills. Experience with POSIX OS programming (e.g., Linux) is also essential. Additionally, knowledge of real-time and parallel concurrent programming, as well as expertise in RTOS, device driver development, and embedded system optimization are required.

  • M.Sc. or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Computer, or Electronic Engineering.
  • Strong C/C++ and Assembly programming skills.
  • Experience with POSIX OS programming (e.g., Linux).
  • Knowledge of real-time and parallel concurrent programming.
  • Expertise in RTOS, device driver development, and embedded system optimization.
Desirable Skills

Familiarity with industrial communication protocols and computer architecture concepts (MPU, MMU, virtualization) is highly desirable. Additionally, experience with ARM or RISC-V processors, familiarity with safety standards (ISO26262, IEC61508, MISRA C), and experience with hardware debuggers (e.g., Lauterbach, JLink) are considered assets. Understanding of AUTOSAR Classic and related development tools, as well as experience with unit testing and test automation (e.g., CUnit, Googletest), are also desirable.
