R&D Software Developer
Location: Monte San Pietro (BO)

Your Skills Matter

We are in search of a skilled Computer Vision Algorithm Software Engineer to join our team, focusing on the development of innovative products as outlined in our New Products Development Roadmap.
You will engage in the creation of algorithms and software for a diverse range of products, including Smart Vision Sensors (2D and 3D) designed for machine learning and robotics applications.
Your work will primarily involve heterogeneous platforms based on ARM SOCs with integrated hardware accelerators (such as NPU, GPU, DSP).

In this role, you will be empowered to take on leadership responsibilities, devise creative solutions, propose patents, and embrace exciting challenges:


• As a software engineer, you will evaluate system requirements (both functional and non-functional) and develop high-level architectural designs for the systems you create, specifying the requirements for subsystems.

• Design, implement, and validate software from high-level applications to low-level components; produce comprehensive documentation for the software and its tests.

• Consistently apply software engineering best practices, including code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, code analysis, and change management.

• Develop algorithms in the domains of rule-based computer vision, machine learning, and robotics.

• Conduct testing and characterization of the developed devices.

• Review current literature in the fields of 2D/3D vision and robotics to stay informed on state-of-the-art advancements.

• Debug and review code, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems.

• Collaborate with the Team Manager and Program Manager to organize tasks, prioritize activities, and achieve key project milestones.

Your expertise will be valued, particularly in the following areas:


• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Robotics Engineering, or a related field.

• Over 5 years of experience in software development.

• Proficiency in Italian and English (minimum B2 level).

• Extensive experience in system development on both single and multiprocessor platforms. Strong skills in C++, C, and Python, as well as NPU and/or DSP programming.

• Familiarity with machine learning concepts, including model development, assessment, training and testing datasets, and algorithm performance evaluation.
