Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled Mental Health Therapist to join our team as a Clinical Psychologist Assistant. In this role, you will provide mental health assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and crisis intervention services for adult and/or child members who present themselves for psychiatric evaluation.
You will work under the supervision of a licensed Psychologist or board certified Psychiatrist and collaborate with treating primary care providers and with psychiatric and allied health professional team members to plan and direct each individual patient's treatment program.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Mental Health Assessment and Treatment: Develop, implement, coordinate, and evaluate clinical treatment programs for the diagnosis, treatment, and/or referral of Health Plan members with acute or chronic mental illness.
- Outpatient Psychotherapy: Provide outpatient psychotherapy to individuals, couples, families, and groups, instructing and counseling patients and their families regarding compliance with prescribed therapeutic regimens and adherence to prescribed medication regimens.
- Clinical Documentation: Prepare intake summaries, treatment plans, and case summaries, maintaining ongoing confidential records in accord with state and NCQA regulations and in keeping with accepted community standards.
- Collaboration and Consultation: Collaborate with physicians in screening and evaluating patients for psychotropic medications, utilizing resources of public and private agencies and community organizations to meet the needs of the members' treatment.
- Safety Reporting: Report safety concerns to mandated reporting agencies.
Basic Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, you must have a PhD/PsyD/EdD in Clinical, Counseling, Health, or School Psychology from an accredited college or university. Additionally, you should hold a Psychological Assistant Registration (California) and obtain a Psychologist License (California) within 24 months of hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
A previous clinical responsibility to include crisis intervention, individual, and group psychotherapy is highly desirable. Demonstrated experience in psychological evaluations of adults, children, adolescents, and families, including administering and writing up psychological testing and assessment batteries, is also preferred.
Work Environment:
This role requires working in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing multiple tasks, and maintaining confidentiality. You must be able to work independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
