Job Summary
Villanova University College of Nursing seeks highly qualified adjunct faculty to provide instruction in the classroom for the advanced pharmacology course.
About the Role
We are looking for a dedicated and experienced instructor who can teach graduate nursing students about advanced pharmacology. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the subject matter, excellent communication skills, and the ability to foster a supportive learning environment.
Responsibilities
- Understand the course objectives and be familiar with the overall curriculum of the College of Nursing.
- Provide supervision of students in the classroom (in-person or online) or clinical setting.
- Visit students in their precepted clinical sites at least two times a semester.
- Supervise students in weekly case presentations groups.
- Prepare students to develop competent clinical decision-making capability by facilitating sound clinical reasoning and critical thinking techniques.
- Foster communication skills with preceptors and course faculty.
- Validate students' understanding of theoretical, scientific, and evidence-based practice.
- Evaluate students' clinical practice and provide feedback to students on their accomplishment of clinical objectives by completing a formal Clinical Evaluation.
- Guide students in their growth within the nursing profession.
- Validate students' understanding of theoretical, scientific, and evidence-based concepts to meet course objectives.
- Evaluate and provide feedback to students on their accomplishment of course and clinical objectives.
Requirements
- Master's degree in discipline; Experience in discipline required.
- Preferred qualifications: Previous experience in academic teaching and willingness to be flexible in fulfilling responsibilities. Doctoral Degree Preferred.
Compensation
A competitive salary range is available upon request. The salary will depend on qualifications, experience, and location.
