Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Embedded Software Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our software Verification and Validation (V&V) group, you will be responsible for ensuring software quality across various embedded and high-performance applications in space.

Your primary objective will be designing and developing HIL satellite simulator components, improving the V&V infrastructure to enable simulation of new sensors and actuators, and creating automated test procedures for flight software on avionic platforms used on board our spacecrafts under development.

You will work within a continuous integration environment, contributing to the entire application lifecycle with a focus on test and integration. Your tasks will include architecture software design and development of HIL infrastructure components, debug maintenance of features, test scenarios definitions against embedded software requirements, and preparation of flight software V&V technical documentation.

Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop HIL infrastructure components (e.g., satellite sensors and actuators mockups)
  • Develop and maintain feature architectures, including integration with software-in-the-loop and hardware-in-the-loop test suites
  • Create test scenarios based on embedded software requirements
  • Contribute to the entire application lifecycle, focusing on requirements verification and validation, debugging, and integration of flight software with flight hardware
  • P Prepare flight software V&V technical documentation
  • Collaborate on process, methodology, and test framework improvements
  • Support satellite AIV activities and HW production testing
Requirements:
  • 3 to 7 years of industry experience in embedded software development
  • Proven ability to design, develop, and deliver applications in C-family (C/C++) languages
  • Proven ability to design, develop, and deliver applications in Python language
  • Advanced experience in developing large distributed applications using design patterns
  • Advanced knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP)
  • Advanced knowledge of typical embedded communication interfaces (RS232, RS485, SPI, I2C, CAN, Ethernet)
  • Familiarity with Git versioning system or similar DVCS
  • Familiarity with Linux-based distributions and appreciation of application development
  • Familiarity with typical software development methodologies and release versioning processes
  • Experience defining software system specifications and software requirements
  • Experience debugging embedded software using standard laboratory equipment
Preferred Skills:
  • Understanding of SW design and testing lifecycle in regulated environments (ECSS standard)
  • Knowledge of real-time operating systems (RTEMS or FreeRTOS) and/or operating systems targeted for embedded applications
  • Experience using and configuring build tool chains or similar development environments
  • Familiarity with OBDH and TMTC architectures used in space systems
About You

To succeed in this role, you should have a Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field, such as software engineering, computer science, physics, automation engineering, electronic engineering, or aerospace engineering. Proficiency in English is required.
