About SOS MEDITERRANEE, a European-based humanitarian organization. The position of Search and Rescue Coordinator is available to expand the team's capabilities.
Job DescriptionCompany Overview:
SOS MEDITERRANEE is a maritime rescue association founded in 2015. We operate on the deadliest maritime migratory route in the world, providing humanitarian aid to those in distress at sea. Our network consists of four European entities sharing the objective to support our rescue operations.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the Search and Rescue operation from the bridge.
- Validate that the ship is ready for departure from all relevant perspectives.
- Oversee maintenance, works, and technical issues related to the ship or SAR equipment.
- Cover port calls, safety, and security protocols.
Requirements:
- Maritime Deck Officer experience with STCW certifications.
- Relevant professional experience in maritime environments, including bridge supervision positions.
- Familiarity with Maritime Law and regulations.
- Nautical expertise (navigation, ship stability, meteorology).
- Fluent in English (spoken and written).
- Proven track record in team management, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.

Location:
