We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Child and Youth Program Assistant to join our team at USAJOBS. As a key member of our Child and Youth Services program, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to children and youth in our care.
Key Responsibilities- Program Planning and Implementation: Plan, coordinate, and conduct activities that meet the physical, social, emotional, and cognitive needs of program participants, ranging in age from 6 weeks to 18 years.
- Environment and Safety: Establish a program environment that sustains participant interest and promotes positive interactions with other children, youth, and adults, while maintaining control of and accounting for the whereabouts and safety of children and youth.
- Program Operations: Help prepare, arrange, and maintain indoor and outdoor activity areas and materials to accommodate daily schedules and provide program options for children with special requirements.
- Reporting and Data Management: Maintain program participation data and complete daily reports.
- Education: At a minimum, a high school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) is required. Proof of education is required at the time of application.
- Communication: Must be able to communicate in English, both orally and in writing.
- Background Check: Satisfactory completion of pre-employment background checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para. 2, and a Child Care Tier 1 background investigation is required.
