About This Job

Job Summary
As a Lean Manufacturing Engineer at Dana Canada Corp., you will contribute to the implementation of the company's lean strategy, deploying standards and methods in all functions. You will provide support in Lean & CI initiatives, coordinating and controlling the plant in their CI & Lean cost reduction projects. Additionally, you will train plant employees in DANA's lean strategy (DOS) culture and tools, increasing their competencies and knowledge of lean. You will also organize and support JISHUKEN (kaizen week) in the plant, train internal leaders, and evaluate lean approach expansion plans. You will develop training programs according to plant priorities, manage business systems to control the plant in regards to DOS, and collaborate with the plant manager and category leaders to monitor CI savings and projects. You will also plan and monitor projects to ensure targets are achieved within budget and on time. You will be responsible for organizing JISHUKEN or WORKSHOP activities to support and boost improvement in the plant and collaborate with other plant DOS managers and the DOS Regional manager to collect and apply best practices from other plants. You will also collaborate with the corporate team for the development and implementation of DANA connected strategy.

Main Responsibilities
• Analyze manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research programs, applying knowledge of product design, assembly, tooling, and materials and conferring with equipment vendors and soliciting observations from operators. 
• Improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, equipment layout, and tooling design accordingly to the lean production system and methodology, including continuous improvement, 5S, Problem solving, Standardized Works, SMED, Value stream mapping, VA/NVA activities, and TPM.
• Develop innovative and effective automation solutions to increase assembly lines productivity, including MES, operator guidance, and Industry 4.0.
