Postdoctoral Researcher in Mitochondrial Biology

The Telethon Institute of Genetics and Medicine (TIGEM) is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Researcher to join our team in Pozzuoli, Naples, Italy.

About the Position

We are looking for a talented researcher with a PhD in Biology or a related field to work on an exciting project focused on dissecting mechanisms involved in mitochondrial diseases and developing novel therapeutic strategies. The ideal candidate will have excellent skills in cellular and molecular biology, with a strong background in mitochondrial biology or microRNAs biology being highly desirable.

Job Responsibilities

• Conduct research on mitochondrial diseases and develop mutation-independent strategies for treatment
• Work in collaboration with our team to achieve project goals
• Develop and implement new techniques and methods for studying mitochondrial biology

Required Qualifications

• PhD in Biology or a related field
• Excellent skills in cellular and molecular biology
• Background in mitochondrial biology or microRNAs biology (highly desirable)
• Strong motivation and ability to work in a team

What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary range of €24,000-€33,000 per year, depending on experience, as well as attractive income tax benefits for candidates coming to Italy for the first time or returning after residing abroad.
