About the Role:

Villanova University is seeking a skilled Development Officer to join its California-based fundraising team. As a frontline fundraiser, you will establish and manage effective relationships with donor prospects and existing donors across the West Region, with a focus on San Francisco, San Mateo County, East Bay, and San Jose.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and manage a portfolio of prospects, establishing and maintaining effective relationships with donors and prospects.
  • Conduct 14-16 prospect visits per month, assuming stewardship responsibilities for assigned prospects.
  • Plan and implement prospect cultivation and solicitation strategies using work and stewardship plans.
  • Support prospect engagement and involvement efforts for University-wide events and programs taking place in California and West subregions.
  • Provide administrative support for West Region-based advancement efforts.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • A minimum of two to three years of experience in the nonprofit sector (or a transferable field) with exposure to frontline fundraising/client services preferred.
  • Demonstrated understanding of individual fundraising required, preferably in the field of higher education and/or within the West Region philanthropic community.
  • Commitment to the principles behind higher education and a strong desire to associate with Villanova University and champion its mission expected.
