Job Summary
As a Senior Environmental Consultant at Energyjobline.com, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the environmental sustainability of energy projects. Your expertise will be instrumental in conducting thorough environmental impact assessments, identifying potential risks, and developing innovative mitigation strategies to minimize adverse impacts.

Key Responsibilities
• Conduct environmental impact assessments for energy projects, overseeing assessments of biophysical components.
• Identify and evaluate potential environmental risks, and develop tailored mitigation measures to address complex environmental and social risks.
• Conduct ES due diligence to evaluate environmental and social risks associated with energy projects, ensuring compliance with regulations and industry standards.
• Develop advanced mitigation strategies to address environmental and social risks, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
• Provide strategic guidance to project teams on integrating mitigation measures into project plans and financing agreements.
• Lead collaboration efforts with engineers, economists, legal advisors, and other professionals to analyze data and assess project feasibility.
• Provide expert environmental insights to inform decision-making processes and enhance project design.
• Prepare detailed environmental reports for stakeholders, including investors, financiers, and regulatory authorities.
• Effectively communicate findings, risks, and mitigation strategies to support project financing activities and decision-making.

Requirements
• More than 5 years of experience in similar roles.
• Experience in environmental impact assessment methodologies, ESDD compliance, External Monitoring and Environmental and Social Management Systems with project financing environmental and social standards.
• In-depth understanding and application of IFC Performance Standards as well as ADB/EBRD/Equator Principles or other international Lenders' Environmental, social, health and safety standards, in the context of infrastructure and/or energy sectors.
• Ability to perform air quality modelling and/or noise quality modelling; ability to use Windpro to undertake shadow flicker, noise and visual impact assessments is an asset.
• Professional proficiency in spoken and written English; working knowledge of French or Spanish is an asset.
• Flexibility to travel worldwide on short assignments.
• Competencies such as MAKE EFFECTIVE DECISIONS, ADDRESS THE WAY, MANAGE EMOTIONS, CLIENT INTIMACY, EARN TRUST, PROMOTE SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT, THINK FORWARD, PIONEER CHANGE, BUILD NETWORK, and Education MSc or MA degree in Environmental/Chemical Engineering or Environmental Sciences, with a background and focus on environmental impact assessment from industrial activities.
