About the Role

The Lead Worship Musician at our church is a part-time position, requiring 5-10 hours of work per week. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the Chancel Choir in rehearsals and Sunday worship services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct and rehearse the Chancel Choir to perform at traditional worship services on Sundays.
  • Coordinate solos, small groups, and instrumentalists to enhance Sunday worship.
  • Work with the organist and pastor(s) to plan and select hymns for each Sunday.
  • Plan and prepare the Chancel choir for special services, including Christmas cantatas and Easter Sunday.
  • Hire extra musicians as needed for special events.
Requirements
  • Knowledge of the liturgical seasons and ability to select relevant music.
  • Motivational leadership skills to attract and retain volunteer choir members.
  • Proficiency in singing, bell ringing, organ, and piano playing.
  • Ability to adapt to combined worship services.
  • An active relationship with Jesus Christ and a passion for ministering through music.
