Our Police Department
The Florence Police Department is a small, close-knit team of 31 Police Officers and 10 civilian employees, dedicated to Community Oriented Policing and serving the public. We prioritize building relationships with our community and providing exceptional service.
Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Lateral Police Officer to join our team. As a Police Officer with the Town of Florence, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in our community, working closely with residents, businesses, and other stakeholders to maintain a safe and welcoming environment.
Responsibilities
- Enforce laws and regulations to maintain public safety and order
- Build and maintain positive relationships with the community, businesses, and other stakeholders
- Participate in community policing initiatives and events
- Collaborate with other law enforcement agencies to address regional issues
- Perform administrative tasks, such as reporting and record-keeping
Requirements
- Must be a certified law enforcement officer in good standing
- Must have a strong understanding of community policing principles and practices
- Must be able to work effectively in a small-town setting
- Must be able to communicate effectively with diverse populations
