Overview

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly experienced and innovative Principal Cloud Operations Manager to lead our Regional IT and IAM Programs. As a key member of our Cloud Operations & Innovation team, you will play a critical role in delivering the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's dedicated online services.

About the Role:

As a successful Principal Cloud Operations Manager, your performance objectives will consist of:

  • Managing a team of senior-level individual contributors who are experts in their field.
  • Attracting, growing, and developing talent with a growth mindset.
  • Being empowered and accountable by modeling, coaching, and caring for your team.
  • Analyzing and interpreting program data to provide recommendations and strategic recommendations for datacenter-related operations models, support, and implementation plans.
  • Collaborating across internal groups, external suppliers, and customers.
  • Documenting and improving processes around planning, implementation, operations, confidentiality, security, and compliance to ensure the work being done is securely, compliantly, efficiently, and per standards.
  • Participating in technical communities to stay informed of best practices and changes within the broader discipline and sharing them with the organization.
  • Empowering a culture of safety, security, and compliance in all aspects of datacenter activities.
  • Establishing and enhancing strong working relationships with partner organizations.
  • Creating and managing end-to-end project plans and ensuring on-time delivery.
  • Working with various Engineering, Operations, Electrical, and Mechanical teams during project planning and execution.

Requirements:

  • Significant years of industry work experience
  • Significant years of experience in developing and implementing programs in Datacenter Operations or related fields
  • Experience developing and presenting executive-level presentations and reports
  • STEM college degree or certification in IT with equivalent work experience
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a dynamic and high-pressure environment
  • Significant years of experience in leading a diverse, technical team
  • Experience with Project and Program management in large, complex, cross-functional organizations

Background Check Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to, the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter
