About the Role:

Serco is seeking an experienced and dynamic End-to-End Technical Coordinator to join our international team in Frascati, Rome.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the comprehensive oversight and control of the Payload Data Ground Segment (PDGS) of ESA Earth Explorers missions.

This role requires a deep understanding of the Core PDGS and the ability to work collaboratively in a team to ensure the smooth operation of the PDGS.

The End-to-End Technical Coordinator will be the reference point for the Service Team, ESA, and external interfaces, and will be responsible for supervising key activities, including the analysis of end-to-end performance and the corresponding impact on all services within the PDGS.

The successful candidate will also be responsible for overseeing the Change management process and organizing and participating in meetings with Service Team, ESA, and Industries to report the status of the PDGS and resolve incidents and problems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Day-to-day supervision of the correct functioning of the processing chain.
  • Coordination and monitoring of the PDGS incidents, problems, maintenance, and evolution.
  • Oversee the PDGS end-to-end performances.
  • Assessment and mitigation of potential impact on other service functions.
  • Responsibility of the incident management process, ensuring that incidents are addressed and resolved in line with the agreed SLAs.
  • Oversee the Change management process.
  • Organize and participate in regular meetings with ESA and Industries to report issues encountered during the period, performance results achieved during the current period, and improved way forward if applicable.
  • Provide technical support for the assessment of potential evolutions of the Ground Segment.
  • Coordinate and validate Transfer to operations.

Requirements:

  • University degree or equivalent qualification in engineering or a related technical field.
  • Demonstrated experience in project and team management.
  • Excellent knowledge of data processing chain preferably related to the Earth Observation Ground Segments.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team and share/acquire knowledge.
  • Proactive problem-solving attitude.
  • Knowledge of Earth Observation missions and their operational context.
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
  • Experience in drafting and editing complex technical reports.
  • Experience in Documentation Review.
