About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Application Design Engineer to join our team at Alstom, a leading company in the mobility sector. As an Application Design Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the design of Interlocking systems, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our railway signaling systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify and analyze customer requirements during the tender phase
  • Develop customized application designs through the design flow, aligning with Alstom's generic product and application functions
  • Collaborate with the project team and other functions to design the Interlocking system, from requirements analysis to system logic design
  • Apply application design methods and tools in accordance with Alstom's design flow and standards, contributing to the continuous improvement of the Interlocking design process and tools
  • Develop schematic plans, condition tables, equation files, and plant files according to railway signaling standards
  • Develop basic diagrams of logic functions for the operating logic of the railway signaling system
  • Support the Verification & Validation and Test & Commissioning teams in the verification and validation phase of the plant, adopting design choices that minimize field activities and simplify migration management
Requirements
  • University degree in a relevant field
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Windows Operating Systems and Office tools
  • Knowledge of CAD tools
Preferred Skills
  • Knowledge of signaling principles and rules
  • Knowledge of standards RFI
  • Knowledge of traffic supervision and regulation principles
  • Minimum 1-3 years of experience in application design
  • Basic information and communication technology skills
  • Basic knowledge of software programming languages and technologies (VB, C#, C/C++, SQL, WPF,.Net)
  • English language proficiency
