Navigation Algorithm Specialist

Civitanavi Systems, a leading player in design, development, and manufacturing of high-tech navigation, control, and stabilization systems, is seeking an experienced engineer for real-time image processing.

The ideal candidate will join our Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) team in Casoria, Italy, and be responsible for designing, developing, and testing visual-based processing algorithms for integration in new multi-sensor navigation products.

The candidate will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team with expertise in modeling and simulation of aerospace systems, development of Guidance, Navigation, and Control algorithms, and multi-sensor navigation units.

The selected individual will be responsible for:
1. Analyzing features and selecting image sensors (cameras, LIDARs, etc.) for navigation purposes.
2. Defining requirements, designing, modeling, and simulating visual-based navigation algorithms in Matlab/Simulink or similar environments related to image processing.
3. Supporting the integration of image processing algorithms with other navigation sensor fusion algorithms and evaluating solution integrity.
4. Assisting in test plan definition, video sensor calibration procedures, test campaign execution, and result analysis.
5. Supporting software coding, testing, and qualification of the image processing algorithms.

Qualifications and Skills
• Master's degree in Aerospace, Computer Science, Robotics, or Automation disciplines.
• Knowledge of digital signal processing fundamentals.
• Good understanding of integrated digital systems and related architectures, and image sensors with calibration procedures.
• Proficiency in image processing and modeling tools like Matlab/Simulink.
• Consolidated knowledge of image processing algorithms and sensor fusion techniques.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Attitude to problem-solving and achieving results within time and cost constraints.
• Good knowledge of English for writing and speaking (knowledge of additional languages is an asset).
