Mechanical Design CAD Specialist

At Thales Alenia Space, we are seeking a skilled Mechanical Design CAD Specialist to join our team in the Mechanical, Thermal Engineering Department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, modeling, and sizing spacecraft Mechanical Structure parts, as well as thermal design, 3D modeling of spacecraft Thermal hardware parts. Your expertise in CATIA V5 CAD modeling and mechanical design will be essential in creating accurate and efficient designs. Additionally, you will be responsible for harness design, 2D CAD drafting, and product structures and BOM preparation and management within Company databases.
Requirements:
- Aerospace/Mechanical Engineering Bachelor;
- High school degree relevant to Mechanical or similar background;
- At least two years' experience as CAD design specialist;
- Knowledge of aerospace structures and basic sizing of mechanical parts;
- Experienced knowledge of CATIA V5 CAD modeling, mechanical design, and parts design;
- Assembly design, sheet metal design, electrical wire harness installation, and drafting module;
- Knowledge of a PDM (ENOVIA preferred), mechanical tolerances, and standard parts datasheets;
- Product Tree generation and management, and Microsoft Office tools knowledge;
- Knowledge of English, both written and spoken.
Optional skills:
- Mechanical analysis, capability to prepare mechanical model using built-in module and to run basic static/modal analysis;
- Workshop experience, basic machining, turning, and other manufacturing techniques knowledge.
