Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the engineering design team in new product homologation, ensuring designs meet required regulations.
  • Liaise with authorities such as the VCA, EU Type of Approval, and relevant regulatory bodies.
  • Generate homologation and test plans to meet SOP deadlines.
Core Skills:
  • Managing homologation paperwork and certification.
  • Ensuring vehicle specifications comply with existing legislation in chosen markets.
  • Staying informed about forthcoming changes in legislation impacting vehicle type approvals.
  • Developing and communicating timing schedules for legislation-led design changes.
  • Communicating with regulatory agencies and agents working on behalf of the company.
  • Attending relevant SMMT meetings and providing feedback to management.
  • Undertaking necessary testing (R78, R136, R85, etc.).
  • Assisting Sales & Marketing with Certificates of Production and Certificates of Conformity.
Requirements:
  • A proven ability to review documentation and feed content back into a team.
  • A good understanding of the homologation process.
  • The ability to negotiate fair program costs for vehicle homologation.
  • Knowledge of EU Type of Approvals, VCA, and DLT for different markets.
  • An engineering degree (preferably automotive or mechanical) or significant experience in homologation certification.
  • 10+ years of experience in certification and homologation roles.
