Job Summary

Bottero S.p.A., a leading glass and solar panel machinery company, is seeking a highly motivated Automation Expert to join our team at our solar site in Catania.

We are looking for an experienced engineer with a passion for new technologies, holding a degree in Automation, Electronics, Mechatronics or similar, ready to contribute to the service and maintenance of control and software of the biggest european solar production site.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in PLC programming, HMI development, SCADA systems, and CNC/Motion control. Additionally, they should have excellent spoken and written English skills, with knowledge of a second foreign language being considered a plus.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain automation systems using PLC, HMI, and SCADA technologies
  • Install and configure software on PLCs, HMIs, and inverters
  • Troubleshoot and repair automation equipment
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve process efficiency and productivity

Requirements

  • degree in Automation, Mechatronics, Electronics or related field
  • previous experience in service and troubleshooting of automation equipment
  • very good English skills, with knowledge of a second foreign language a plus
  • knowledge of programming languages such as Siemens, Rockwell, Schneider, or Codesys
  • knowledge of SCADA programming (e.g., Intellution iFix, Wonderware Aveva, Movicom, Siemens WinCC, Ignition)
  • real-time programming experience
