Job Summary: The Mechanical Engineering (ME) Makerspace, laboratory and metal shop assistants will assist the ME Lab Manager and Technician in a dynamic and innovative environment. The individuals will help with equipment and instruction in the ME Metal Shop, as well as setting up simple instructional laboratory experiments. They will also be responsible for assisting the ME chair and faculty with Makerspace management, a facility for innovation and student advancement. The assistants will be responsible for equipment, instruction, basic maintenance, and supply requests.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the ME Lab Manager and Technician with equipment and instruction in the ME Metal Shop.
  • Help set up simple instructional laboratory experiments.
  • Assist the ME chair and faculty with Makerspace management, including equipment, instruction, basic maintenance, and supply requests.

Working Conditions: The lab and metal shop environments require adherence to all safety protocols and dress codes in place.

Compensation: The hourly wage for this position is $13 per hour.
