Position Overview:

As a pivotal figure in the project lifecycle, the Supply Chain Project Coordinator will oversee and streamline supply chain operations from the initial tender phase through to project completion. This role is essential in representing the supply chain function within the core project team.

Objective:

The primary goal is to meticulously plan all supplier interactions to ensure timely order placements and adherence to project milestones during the co-design phase, as well as ensuring on-time delivery during the ramp-up period.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a defined scope based on project complexity, which may include multiple smaller projects, a single large project, or specific subsystems.
  • Coordinate with all internal and external stakeholders to guarantee timely order placements.
  • Facilitate communication between sourcing teams and project management, including design modifications and proposals.
  • Identify critical sourcing timelines based on standard lead times.
  • Validate project schedules for sourcing activities.
  • Ensure all specifications are prepared prior to negotiations, covering technical, quality, logistics, and cost aspects.
  • Assist in logistics negotiations.
  • Monitor planning with potential suppliers during the co-design phase.
  • Assess the impact and risks of modifications on the project timeline.
  • Raise alerts if project milestones are not achieved on schedule.
  • Verify the completeness of orders before they are entered into the system.
  • Participate in First Article Inspection (FAI) and gate reviews.
  • Identify suppliers needing capacity assessments and initiate improvement plans in collaboration with material planners.
  • Ensure all project communications with supply markets are routed through sourcing or that sourcing is informed of minor contacts.
  • Collaborate with production planning to confirm feasibility based on procurement strategies.
  • Ensure timely completion of clerical tasks related to order creation and entry.
  • Initiate corrective actions as necessary.
  • Coordinate with buyers to initiate additional or replacement orders.
  • Raise alerts for significant supplier issues during the serial phase that require commodity support.
  • Support the reporting process for work packages.

Candidate Profile:

  • Preferred educational background in Business Administration, Engineering, or Supply Chain Management.
  • Experience with ERP systems and supply chain processes, with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Fluency in Italian and English.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience in supplier/customer relationships or project/industrial environments.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally for short durations.
  • Desirable: Familiarity with ERP material management and architecture.
