Job Title: Computer Vision Data Scientist

We are seeking a highly skilled Computer Vision Data Scientist to join our team at Generali Italia. As a key member of our Image Analytics Solutions unit, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and deploying complex Computer Vision solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the project set-up, analysis of as-is processes, creation of a business case, and design of the target end-to-end solution, including models and data needed to maximize business impact.
  • Develop end-to-end AI projects (data pre-processing, algorithm selection, training, evaluation/test, and code-base maintenance).
  • Present and explain project results and solution performances to business stakeholders.
  • Research bleeding-edge techniques and tools to bring new research topics and methodologies from paper to production and contribute to the library of ready-to-use shared algorithms used worldwide.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in scientific disciplines (Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, Physics).
  • 3-5 years of experience as a data scientist or AI/ML engineer.
  • Good knowledge of written and spoken English (B2 or higher).
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical and deductive skills, creativity, and determination.
  • Ability to work in a team, operational autonomy, proactivity, high level of commitment, and result-oriented.
  • Experience with Python or other programming languages (R, Java, C++,...).
  • Proficiency with Data Science libraries (Pandas, Scikit-learn, Numpy,...).
  • Experience in designing, developing, and evaluating Statistical or Machine Learning models (clustering, classification, regression, forecasting,...).
  • Classical Computer Vision techniques (filtering, thresholding, morphology operators,...).
  • Deep Learning frameworks (Pytorch or Tensorflow) and/or libraries (Hugging Face, Detectron2, MMLab,...).
  • Experience with image classification (multi-class and/or multilabel), object detection, segmentation, and metric learning.
Nice to Have:
  • Cloud Development (AWS, Azure, GCP,...).
  • DevOps/MLOps pipelines.
  • GPU/Multi-GPU/multi-node training.
  • Model optimization (pruning, quantization, distillation,...).
  • Experience in building and deploying API services.
  • Basic knowledge of IT architecture.
