Job Title & Purpose

Harness Designer

The purpose of this role is to guarantee harness design and routing integration within our products by adhering to design rules, respecting product feasibility, norms, and our development process (DFQ).

Position in the Organisation

This position reports to the Electrical Domain Leader and functions under the Traction Domain Leader/Cubicle Domain Leader. It belongs to the Engineering Department: Traction Design.

Missions
  • Respect QCD commitments (Quality, Costs, Delay)
  • Ensure right-first-time deliverables (no modifications due to design errors after FEI)
Responsibilities
  • Consider REX, norms, and contract requirements in deliverables
  • Create 3D models (routing) of each harness while collaborating with mechanical designers, manufacturing engineers, S&A designers, and designing 3D models of metallic supports/parts related to electrical installations
  • Design detailed electrical harness deliverables: BOM kit, formboards, BOM in ERP & DMA, wiring list, Plug Maps, instruction sheets, jig & tools lists
  • Manage deliverables to launch prototypes on time and ensure good storage after official release (DMA, GSI, TED, SEE ONE, etc.)
  • Organize and pilot harness design deliverables reviews, Electrical Process review (detailed phase), and participate in Electrical Process DR managed by S&A designer
  • Ensure deliverable updates in case of modification (harness suppliers, internal or TT manufacturing)
  • Answer FQR and solve identified issues, managing gaps for retrofitting harnesses
  • Ensure terminal ends and cabling expertise of the product/project
  • Innovate, anticipate, and contribute to electrical harness design improvement axes with skill leader:
    • Standard métier update
    • Informatic tools optimization
    • Electrical domain improvement (CATIA Electrical, CATIA Sheet Metal, FAO, SEE ONE, etc.)
Job SpecificationsKnowledge & Experience
  • Master Degree in Electrotechnical, Electromechanical, Mechanical, Aerospace Engineering or similar
  • Professional experience as Engineer with Electrotechnical or Electromechanical skills (beginner/junior; < 3 years)
  • Use of DMA/Catia Electrical, Catia Sheet Metal; Cabling/Wiring list software
  • Knowledge on SEE ONE, GLC, ELSA, and/or ERP (type SAP/GSI) is a plus
  • Good knowledge of English language
Salary Estimate

The estimated annual salary for this role is approximately $85,000-$110,000, depending on location and experience.
