**About the Role**

We are seeking a talented Cost Consultant to join our team at Linesight. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the cost aspects of our projects, ensuring that our clients receive the best value for money.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the tender/bid process, from initial documentation to analysis and reporting;
  • Manage the change management process, identifying, analyzing, approving, and implementing changes that affect project costs;
  • Analyze tenders to ensure client value for money;
  • Assist in preparing and agreeing on final accounts, including handling claims to ensure clients receive the best value from works undertaken;
  • Create estimates and cost plans for key client developments;
  • Oversight of project spend, including valuations and cost reports, with clear communication of variations to the team;
  • Support project management and decision-making through excellent cost documentation and timely communication;
  • Support the settlement of construction disputes/loss and expense claims with transparency;
  • Foster top performance and growth for team members through excellent mentorship and leadership.

Requirements:

  • Experience as a Cost Consultant, preferably from a consultancy background;
  • Experience in pre-contract cost management, including budget control, cost planning, and preparing and initiating change forms for discussion with other project stakeholders;
  • Knowledge of alternative construction materials;
  • Chartered or on the path to completion;
  • Degree or comparable experience in a project management or construction discipline;
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing;
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment with flexible priorities and deadlines;
  • Strong relationships with team members and clients through a shared purpose and sense of openness and fun.
