Position Overview
We are seeking a Senior Software Engineering Manager to lead our Mobile Platform team in Brazil. In this pivotal role, you will oversee our mobile platform and design system teams, mentoring mobile engineers and tech leads to promote a culture of technical excellence and robust team collaboration. Your leadership will be crucial in aligning our engineering and product development strategies with business goals.
Your Responsibilities
- Articulate and share a clear vision for the CODE Ecosystem, ensuring cohesive alignment across all engineering divisions;
- Guide mobile architecture decisions that influence our entire CODE development processes, establishing benchmarks for performance, scalability, and resilience;
- Mentor tech leads, offering insights on architectural choices, setting technical standards, and recommending tools and methodologies that enhance collaborative and efficient outcomes;
- Enhance existing systems by improving functionality, scaling operations, and transforming them to meet evolving product requirements;
- Foster a collaborative and agile work environment that prioritizes people and productivity;
- Engage with cutting-edge technologies and complex scenarios on a global scale;
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Product Management, to ensure engineering efforts are in sync with product objectives and business strategies;
- Serve as a liaison between engineering teams and other stakeholders, facilitating effective communication;
- Promote data-driven decision-making, ensuring metrics and KPIs inform engineering priorities and resource allocation;
- Embody our mission by inspiring and empowering others, prioritizing well-being, and creating a supportive atmosphere where everyone can focus on self-care and work-life balance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent professional experience;
- A technical professional passionate about software and product development;
- Accountable for decisions with a strong sense of ownership over delivered products;
- Proactive, innovative, and data-driven, valuing facts in product decision-making;
- Experienced in mobile development (Android, iOS, cross-platform tools like React Native or Flutter);
- Proficient in at least two programming languages, such as Kotlin, Java, Scala, Python, Ruby, JavaScript, or Golang;
- Familiar with SQL/NoSQL technologies like PostgreSQL, MySQL, DynamoDB, with an understanding of common use cases and performance challenges;
- Solid experience with event-driven architectures and message brokers such as RabbitMQ, KAFKA, ActiveMQ, etc., with a deep understanding of their use cases;
- Experience in managing software engineering team leaders;
- Knowledgeable in concepts like DDD, SOLID, Design Patterns, distributed systems, and architecture, with the ability to foresee potential pitfalls in a microservice environment;
- Experienced in implementing prototypes and practices such as MVP, A/B testing, and feature toggles for production feature rollouts;
- Strong communication skills, capable of effectively engaging with both technical and non-technical stakeholders in English and Portuguese.
