Bioinformatics Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Bioinformatics Specialist to join our team at the Genomics Facility of the Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing large amounts of sequencing data and setting up standardized DNAseq/RNAseq analysis pipelines and software infrastructure for our users.

• Manage and analyze large datasets from high-throughput sequencing technologies
• Develop and implement bioinformatics pipelines and software infrastructure for data analysis
• Collaborate with experimental life scientists to design and implement data analysis strategies
• Document and publish research data
• Provide technical support and training to users

• Master's degree in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, or a related field
• At least 2 years of experience in bioinformatics and data analysis
• Strong knowledge of bioinformatics data types and formats
• Proficiency in working in a Linux environment and experience with HPC clusters and scheduling systems
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills

• Proficiency in R or Python programming languages
• Experience with version control systems and repositories
• Knowledge of container systems and workflow management engines
• Good time and priority management skills
