About You: To succeed in this role, you will need to have advanced university degree in law or a related field and at least five years of professional experience in commercial law, including two years of relevant experience in public procurement in an international context. Your excellent communication and negotiation skills will enable you to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, while your working knowledge of English (C level) and intermediate knowledge of another FAO official language will facilitate communication across the organization.
Responsibilities: As a Contract Negotiator, you will be responsible for participating in meetings with suppliers to assist in negotiations on contractual terms and conditions, drafting complex contracts or reviewing procurement-related agreements, and conducting market research to keep abreast of market developments. You will also provide support and guidance to the Procurement Service and other units on legal aspects in procurement, from tendering to vendor eligibility and contract negotiation, and revise FAO contracts' General Terms and Conditions to align with UN directives and corporate policies.
